This is a bit of a team effort really. Chuck helped out with the riser (a top bloke btw), Bob did the warfin' and Jim helped out with the limb camo. Thanks to all and to Tradtalk for getting me in touch with these guys! :highfive:

For those who would like to know more about the limb camo, make sure to look up Jim Castro Jnr's post on vinyl limb skins.

Errr....at least I can claim credit for the paint and camo job on the riser! (blends in great should I need to hunt from my carpet!)

She turned out 51 lbs at my 30" draw with KAP Winstorm medium limbs. Will be a great hunter.

Anyhow - here are the pics. What do you guys think?

Looking good, Greg. Really like the camo on the riser.

Let us know how it shoots. Well, should be no surprises there, lol.
If the lower limb pocket is weighed, adding a 8 oz. or so stabiliser will make the bow balance just about vertical. Also, a pair of limbsaver would be recommended. They really cut down the vibrations and the noise.

Good shooting,

-bm.

Well-well, you sure turned that into a "silk purse"! That paint job almost looks like the grey/black factory camo on my "Jennings". Do keep us posted on your shooting experience with it.

Thanks again for helping out with the riser Chuck! :) She shoots like a dream btw. I've not speed tested her yet (will do this weekend), but I have it bareshafting perfectly out to 30 yds with some ICS Energy 460 shafts cut to 31".

I still have to stick on some limb savers at the fade-outs, but even without - this bow is dead quiet. I can't hear the difference between my Warf and fixed limb recurve shooting. And my recurve is shooting arrows that are a 100gr heavier at the same poundage! Once the limb savers go on, I think it will be whisper quiet....

Cheers,

Greg

So...what are the odds?

Two archers named Greg who build WARF's using a Jennings Lightening riser. Hope to post pictures of mine in the next day or two.

Nice name btw :) Hope yours turns out to be a shooter just like mine! Did some small adjustments to the offset on my 4" vanes to get better groups with broadheads which in turn enabled me to do a bit of fine tuning and raise the nocking point a sniff. Shoots broadheads with compound like accuracy at 30 yds. Next step 40 yd tuning with broadheads....

I suspect my arrow setup is a sniff on the light side at 400 gr dead on, but should do for pig and deer sized stuff....

so what arrows are you using?

Using ICS Energy 460 cut to around 31". 4" vanes on the back (adds a bit of stiffness).
